Paradise Guitars began out in November, 1986 with co-owners Mike Johnston and Gary Phillips in a tiny two story house. The buildings previous home was The Peg Nelson Guitar Center, which served Beloit, WI for three decades. The store out grew it's walls after 2 years and moved to it's current location in September of 1988.

This is about a week after getting a full setup done. Got an Ibanez (action was absolutely horrible) with tune locks and a Floyd rose tremolo. Had a full setup done, new strings and tuned to drop B. Still sounds and plays great! Done in a decent amount of time for a very good price with friendly faces. Will continue going here for sure!

I have been a continual customer of Paradise going on 18 years. I have purchased guitars, pedals & miscellaneous related equipment. I have also had numerous repairs, modifications & setups over the years of the gear I have. You won't find a more knowledgeable, fair & talented staff to address your needs treating your gear as it was their own plus treating you with utmost respect and concern for your needs and satisfaction.

Great to see this Shop in the Stateline area. Thor comes from a great pedigree. I took lessons from his Dad and he did top notch setups on my guitars for many years. His son absorbed that knowledge like a sponge and it flowed over seamlessly to the way you are treated at his own shop. Paradise covers it. From Vintage gear, Quality entry level stock, and the Best guitar repair of all types. Lessons as well still. And just going to discuss about anything with strings on it, this is a great small business to patronize.

We took in a very old bass wondering if it could be salvaged in any way as it has sentimental value. The young man immediately assessed it and was able to price out the cost, custom order some pieces and give us a date in which the repair would be completed. Will definantly return for any music needs.
