M & S Studio-Performing Arts

I first attended M&S as a young child and have continued my acting journey in my early adult years. The coaching and community at this location is phenomenal. Sabine is a true professional and has been such a pleasure to be coached by. Shana is also an amazing teacher that truly cares for her students. I was involved in their pre-professional program which prepared me for the opportunity to audition for casting directors and talent agencies in NYC! 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing experience today at M&S studio for their open house. Great vibes from the entire staff especially the director. Met the new Acrobatics Teacher super cool lady and the Acting Teacher as well. Loved the environment and diversity. My 3 girls will be enrolled and as for me I will be checking out their Adult Hip Hop class because why not? Lol

We're new here but everyone is very friendly and both my kids are really enjoying the classes that they offer. Can't wait to see how much they learn and grow at M&S Studio!

We have been at this studio for over two years now with two girls ages 3 to 8 over the span of time. We have loved the variety of classes and teachers. Mrs. Sabine truly cares for each student. It's an individual feel. Not the one of many feel. The performances mixed with theater and dance are fantastic. Great for any age. Thank you for all they do. Our girls really love coming here.

Fully devoted and dedicated to the students. All performance arts training is expensive, but M & S is not trying to take advantage of parents; they are just making sure the lights stay on. Great facility and attentive instruction. Additionally, M & S is held in high regards.

Awesome instructors! My child has being attending classes there for quite sometime and I can see how much she learned. We enjoy the voice and acting classes. The recitals are definitely the best ones!

Jackie is a knowledgeable, thorough, enthusiastic, fun and helpful acting Instructor. I really enjoy her class and I am very thankful that the acting resource is available in Fredericksburg, VA. Jackie brings out the best in each student and challenges us to identify, develop and enhance our skills. She makes the classes interesting and exciting and gives each student the tools they need to achieve excellence in acting.

Both of my daughters are on their 3rd year dancing at M&S. They take tap and jazz, and the instructors are all wonderful with the kids. It's great to see them so excited for class every week!

My daughter has been in a few programs over the years at M&S Studio (ballet and tap classes) but just recently she started taking piano lessons and she loves it. I really appreciate that they offer all types of classes, because my daughter has been able to try her hand at a few different activities. She has made a lot of friends there too, I know she wouldn't want to go anywhere else in Fredericksburg.

I love Mykal and Sabina who own M&S Studios. Sabina scouted my daughter at an AMTC audition at her studio and we signed up to take a very exciting ride. After months of Training with Matts and Mykal in Acting and Modeling we headed off to the Shine Event with AMTC (Actor's Models and Talent for Christ ) in Orlando, FL this past July. Jessica was trained so well at M&S studios that she was selected for the Acting Finale.

Only 10 percent of Actors are selected for that honor. She then went on to be signed by FFT Talent Agency in New York for both Film and Print work. Recently she auditioned for a role in an upcoming movie with names like Russell Crowe and Will Smith. So, to say that we are having the ride of our lives would be an understatement. If your child is planning to pursue dancing at a higher level then this studio MIGHT be the place for you. On the other hand, if your child is interested in dance, wants to learn and have a fun time then I strongly DO NOT recommend this studio. The instructor, although very qualified I am sure, taught and treated the 9 year olds as if they were much older and expreinced danceres.

As a result, she had a very difficult time connecting with the children. The staff never took the time to monitor the class and as a result did not realize that not a single child smiled during the hour class. Communication between the studio and parents was also very poor. Planning for the final dance rehearsal and recital was not given to the parents until late the night before. Also, the costs are absurd.

We spend hundred and hundreds of dollars. Shoes, tights, monthly registration, costumes, pictures, DVD, shirts, etc... My girls love to dance and are proud of themselves with regards to what they have learned. Sadly, they have repeatedly said "I want to learn dance some where else." Overall, I would NOT recommend this studio for unexperienced dancers.
