Why you got to be so weird with your comments every time I come in the store with my children. I get that your band geeks or something, but don't be so creepy and learn how to interact with humans. @Bernard and others need to stop with weird offhand remarks to customers and children in the store. No one needs it and we will take personal insult next time.

Fantastic local music store. Customer service is awesome and the manager Dave Belazis always goes above and beyond to help you get the best deal. They also offer musical classes and sell any type of musical instrument, accessories and equipment. I rather support this nice store than other online or other real music shops.

First rate old-school music store. Foxes has all of your music and music education needs, equipment, accessories, method books, and scores. I'm glad a store like this exists nearby. They have a tremendous inventory of folios, scores, books and sheet music for anyone from beginner to seasoned pro. They rent instruments at reasonable rates. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Stores like this are a treasure!

I went to Foxes music just to come see and admire the store cause of all the instruments. It was my first time going there and usually i'm a anxious mess kind of a person. I was immediately greated by good ol Dave! (Welcoming and friendly) He showed me some books, amps, intruments, etc. demoed some pedals. Not once was there a pressure to buy or anything which was super nice!
No sales pitch and I thoroughly appreciated that. I saw this mustang and he showed it to me and all was history! I walked out with a slammin deal and stand in top of that! Thanks so much Dave! Will definitely be coming back!

Ask for the young David. He's extremely knowledgeable and gives a fair price The store itself has a good selection of guitars and amps. For the very top end equipment, go to Chuck Levin's (they have the ultra high-end stuff stored in the basement). For Fender, Martin, Cordoba, and Henrickson, I go to Foxes.

I appreciate that this is a local business run by real musicians, but their service is inconsistent at best. I was frustrated by staff who just literally handed me an instrument to rent (after filling out paperwork) only to discover later that the make/model wasn't the higher calibre we had wanted. I felt like the staff should have at least asked us a few questions, let my child play the instrument, and ensured that it was what we needed, before walking away with it.
It would have saved us a trip. It's a small store, crowded with books and people. They have a really nice selection of music and instrument rentals. However, expect a wait between 20-60 minutes; it is always busy. Depending on whom you get, you can get extremely great service or indifferent service.

We love Foxes! My daughter has been taking guitar lessons there for over two years now. She started with Kevin and has continued on with Nick now that Kevin has moved away from the area. She loves her guitar lessons with Nick and she gets excited about getting to move on to a new song when she's mastered one. Nick is kind, patient and not intimidating, which is a huge plus for my somewhat reserved child.
Also recommend Foxes in general if you're looking for lessons. Their registrar Alex is super kind, compassionate and a pleasure to talk to each week. She makes the registration and payment process simple and I appreciate that!

We ducked in here on our way to El Patron next door. What a fun joint! The front has all these goofy music-theme tchotchkes and gifties. The whole rest of the store is kind of like the Ollivander's Wand shop of music stores. They had super-deluxe quality instruments just out where you could play'em if you liked. So I got to enjoy a Martin ukulele, best quality, on sale for a paltry $1200. At my home music shop they keep that kind of thing behind glass! I really loved getting to play that. Thank you! I'll be back.

Been going to Foxes since my son was in elementary school & he is now a sophomore in high school. Hands down they are the best in the area - or at least Fairfax County. It is an eclectic little shop, on a busy street, and next to some of my fav restaurants. They have a wide variety of instruments, supplies and even gifts. They offer lessons and their entire staff is very knowledge.
We always find exactly what we are looking for or recommendations on how to find it. We have rented an instrument from them for years and the service is impeccable. We have had repairs, traded for upgrades, bought equipment and supplies, and purchases fun, whimsical Knick knacks. They have everything from beginning to professional from brand spanking new to lovingly used. It's a great spot for musicians find what they need!

Foxes Music Co has one of the largest selection of music books for all instruments and ALL learning levels. Nice novelty items (socks, tote bags, mouse pads and etc). Music books are competitively priced. Foxes Music Co offers other services as well (lessons, instruments rental/sales). I'm a beginning adult piano player (learned to read music in high school band class).
The Essential Elements Piano Theory seems to be the perfect purchase for my current knowledge and playing ability. A family member is learning music also, so I'll be able to pass the music books along! I purchased a lot of music books because I'm trying to discover what works best for my independent learning (supllemented w/ YOUTUBE videos).

This place reminds of how Music Land in Bel Air Maryland was years ago, kinda a grab all for music sales featuring many many guitars but also all the other instruments that soccer moms and dads bring their elementary school aged kids in to buy. The selection of guitars is actually alright carrying everything from jazz, flamenco, to straight up rock and shred guitars.
Problem is this place is so damn small and cramped especially when it gets busy. Then to boot, there is occasionally an award local male aged whatever-teen to age thirty-something looking to chat about band crap to you as you are trying out an instrument. Happened twice to me and I blame the store for this due to both its crampedness but also tolerating local yocal types to come in and hang out. Sorry, but I don't want to chat with you about what you're into music wise or how you think I could fit into whatever local music project is going on. Suddenly I miss the cold callous ways of whatever Guitar Center I'm in or even the trashy Atomic Music.

I have been taking lessons with Kevin Henrickson and highly recommend him as a bass/guitar instructor! He does a good job of teaching theory and practical techniques according to your level, and he has a great background range of music! In just a few lessons I noticed dramatic improvement in play and learned things I'd never before fully understood!

If the owner thinks I am going to allow him to "make it right" he is nuts. That experience was the kind you walk away from and don't let them have another chance mess with your head. My Aunt was the first Cellist in Arlington County Orchestra for 50 years Chamber music from 4 player would meet at her house Tue. night for decades. I used to go list at times.

I like the dusty old neighborhood shop feel. Reasonable prices and a decent selection of sheet music. I was looking for brass ensembles with atypical instrumentation. Didn't have much luck, but the employee I spoke with offered to order anything we needed. Although it's not so important, there's a great collection of cute music themed doodads.love the doodads. Overall, glad to have found a local shop with good prices!
