The Music Stand

Tim Hall, the trumpet instructor, has been teaching my 13 year old son for nearly 2 years now. The result is that my son is one of the best trumpeteers in his grade level at school and he is now enjoying playing. Tim is not only a skilled teacher and musician, but he's a nice guy who makes lessons fun for my son. I highly recommend trying him out if you are searching for a trumpet instructor that will bring the best musician out of your child.

Micah Grant is one of the best guitar teachers we could have ever been with. My Two boys were thrilled to learn songs they heard on the radio. They were able to play a new song every week. Micah is an excellent teacher making it easy and fun to learn

So it started with my son taking drum lessons from David Hall and then evolved into me taking guitar lesson from Micah Grant as well. As it stands, we've been going here for about 5 years now and it's been great. David's tutelage has been instrumental in my son advancement.and he also has had 3 other students who perform in Tesoro HS' Jazz band, Concert band and Wind Ensemble. My guitar lessons with Micah are perfect. He has a patient approach and is a great teacher.

This is a great place, I've been taking trumpet lessons here since I was in middle school. Tim Hall has changed my life in so many positive ways by teaching me the ways of music. He is a great teacher and a very friendly person. Tim is a super busy man because he's good at what he does! He is even a trumpet professor at Chapman University. Speaking of, he helped me get into Chapman (very expensive private university) where I received a scholarship for the trumpet.

My daughter is taking trumpet lessons from Tim Hall and he is an outstanding teacher. He is very patient and encouraging. She is developing a true love of music and is seeing great progress in her playing. When her trumpet began to have problems, Tim was able to help us purchase a new one at a great price. He even gave her a loaner to use until it came in.

Her music teacher at school has noticed her abilities are really developing. I highly recommend both Tim and The Music Stand! It's a fantastic music studio with very reasonable prices.

My son has studied bass and guitar with Micah since he was in elementary school.he is now a JUNIOR in high school. If that's not a testament to how happy we have been there, then I don't know what is! We would not think of going anywhere else for bass or guitar! Micah is always reliable, easy to work with, and extremely knowledgeable! You will not be disappointed if you go to Micah! They also offer lessons on many other instruments, including voice, and I have only heard good things about their other instructors, as well.

My son has been taking trumpet lessons from Tim Hall for a couple of years now. Tim is known throughout Southern California as an amazing teacher in addition to being an incredible player and working musician. His students are consistently placed in honor bands, and are also very successful in their school programs. Tim has had multiple students compete at the national level.

As an adult trumpet "comeback" player, Tim also helped me get back to the point where I could perform in public again after taking many years off from playing. I can't say enough great things about him. My son also takes guitar lessons from Benjamin Camp. He is also an amazing teacher. The Music Stand also has other professional working musicians teaching other instruments. I've talked to people who bring their students to the Music Stand from as far away as Downey and Rancho Palos Verdes. To me, that says a lot.

Tim Hall has been giving my teenage son trumpet lessons since he was five years old. He has been wonderful in adding music to my son's life in an age appropriate way. Over the years I have seen him teach students that have gone on to win significant music competitions. In a skilled and friendly way he has helped many other students achieve their goals in school bands or just experience the joys of music. Tim is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend lessons from The Music Stand. This year, my son will be in our school's Concert Band and I love to listen to him play.

My son has been learning here for the past 6 months and loves it. He started not even knowing how to hold his trumpet, and now he feels confident enough and sounds good enough to try out for an honor band and a local music school. I can't address the issues that people who are using coupons for music lessons are complaining about, but, as a parent of a regular student at this studio, I can tell you that the kids will learn to play their instruments well and that they all love the instructors.

I came on yelp to see if anyone else is having the same problem as me. I called them like 10 times left 3 messages and I have yet to get in contact with anyone. I'm going to see if I can get my money back on the groupon.

I wish i can give A star to this place. I bought a deal from Groupon and thought it would be a nice trial for my almost 4 year old to introduce violin. I was waiting for their call after leaving a message and even visited the location to see if i can talk to a human being. Finally i got a voicemail that states the violin teacher is out of town so e-mail them to schedule a class.

So i wrote a e-mail and waited and waited. And then after a while i got response e-mail that my e-mail got forwarded to the violin teacher. I think i bought groupon on january and i think i got the last e-mail about a month ago. Me and my son got sick of waiting and moving on to a preschool so i don't even know when or how i am going to schedule for the first lesson. I think making an appointment with the president obama might be easier. I think i should just contact groupon for a refund.

My son has had trumpet lessons with Tim Hall for the past eight years. Tim is a true professional and an impressive musician. He works masterfully with kids of all age ranges, striking the right balance with motivation and pressure to practice consistently. Tim keeps instruction interesting and allows the child/adolescent to express themselves by supporting their interests and building on them. Tim frequently is called upon as a musician for performances of a wide range, including the Pacific symphony.

He was hired as a trumpet teacher for our son's summer program at his High School as well. Tim is well connected and does not miss an opportunity to point out music programs suited for your child to participate in.
