If you're looking for a new or used guitar, bass, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and more, you've come to the right place! I have a son that takes drums and a daughter that takes guitar at Laguna Hills Music Academy. They both love their teachers and like coming to lessons each week.
Services
Our goal is to help our students fall in love with music. We only hire teachers that use positive reinforcement and know how to nurture and encourage students, while keeping the lessons fun and engaging. Private Lessons for a typical month of four - 30 minute lessons: $132 per month; 45 minute lessons are $198 per month and 60 minute lessons are $264 per month.
Our Laguna Hills Music Academy offers piano lessons for students of all ages and abilities from beginners to very advanced students. We offer every style of piano lessons including classical, jazz and pop. We have students who want to play just for fun and students who wish to reach high levels of the Master's classical repertoire We are able to match students with a teacher that works best with their particular age, ability and interest. We start piano lessons at any age from age 5 and up. Before age 5, we recommend our group preschool music program.
Our strings program offers private instruction in violin, viola or cello. Our violin lessons start as young as age 5. Due to the size of the instrument, most cello lessons start at 10 years of age or older. We have students of all ages from children to adults. Our violin, viola and cello teachers have university training in their instrument and many perform regularly with local orchestras or bands. Our private lessons are one-on-one instruction and lesson lengths are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour.
Our guitar lessons include acoustic, electric and bass guitar. Most of our guitar teachers also teach ukulele. We have an excellent guitar teaching staff and teach guitar lessons in many styles including rock, blues, jazz, classical, pop, Spanish and chordal accompaniment. Our instructors have real world performance and recording experience.

My kiddo had to decide what string instruments she would like to play for her school music class, so she decided to take a violin lesson and cello lesson during summer. Her instructor Kaija was very friendly and good at teaching a beginner. Our 30 minutes trial lesson went by so quickly. Since my kid plays piano and she can read music, Kaija taught her more than what a regular 1st class covered. The store owner is also super friendly and nice that he let my kid borrow his violin and cello for her lessons. I'm so glad to find a great local music store.

John was really kind and helpful to arrange lessons for us as walk in customer. I didnt expect that we could acctually have one that day but he made it happen. The original plan was to have a piano lesson and practice a bit by himself. Instead, we had a violin lesson and he fell in love with it. The teacher was really inspiring and encouraging. We ended rent a violin.
Half hour later, the piano teacher agreed to stay half hour more to have a lesson with my son, he enjoyed it very much. I forgot to take.the book so he has to play by memory and the little screen of my cell phone. Very good teacher and staff, reasonal price.

Although I did not take classes here due to finding an alternative, I was very impressed with the customer service that I received from John and Conner! They treat customers with care and respond to any inquiries quickly and thoroughly. I've never met the gentlemen but I can tell just by my short conversations with them that they are trustful and honest people.

I love this place. I am a brand new guitar player at middle age and I had a TON of questions. The staff at other places were somewhat less than willing to spend time helping me learn new things and often gave me a derisive response. At Laguna Hills Music you can have a conversation with a patient expert and not a series of one word answers. The staff at Laguna Hills Music is amazing.
They have spent a lot of time with me, helping me get started on the right path. I decided to start lessons based on the kindness and honest effort to help me by the staff (Namely John). I am so happy I did. 2 months into my lessons and I am a lifer for this place. My instructor is patient and has a ton of useful tidbits to share. My lessons feel tailored to me and the prices of both lessons and instruments are extremely reasonable. I appreciate Laguna Hills music for their part in this new endeavor I have taken on.

Laguna Hills Music is great. Both my kids started a year ago with different instruments: piano, drums, trumpet and even voice. They were supposed to start with two instruments each and then pick one to continue with but they couldn't choose, they liked all their teacher and the way they were teaching them, always making it fun even when it was theory class.
All the teachers are amazing. John, the owner, is awesome. He is always there and available to help. Make up lessons are easy to reschedule. They are very flexible and I see kids coming out from the different music rooms always with a smile on their face. Just that should tell you everything! My kids teachers are always very positive and my kids love them. I can't think of a better environment for my children to learn music. Laguna Hills Music Rocks!

This place is the go to instrument place. My brother and I have been going here for two years now for instrument lessons. They have great advice and I hope they stay in business. The only had part is they don't have an onsite instrument repair person so you will have to wait days to get your instrument back and repaired. All in all this place is great. Please come here and support this local business!

The best of the best. The owner, John, doesn't just rent or sell an instrument or anything else. He makes sure the customer knows how to use it, care for it, if it's the right thing for that customer. He is knowledgeable and a really decent person. Which drumsticks do you need? He knows. How do you string that thing? He knows. He cares and will make sure the customer is happy. And the other staff and teachers are great people, too. Where do you get such customer service these days? Oh! And they do repairs, too.

After going to a place closer to my house and was disappointed, went in here to see if they can help check my son's clarinet, John I believe is the owner, was kind enough to take the time to check it and see if it's fixable, he gave me a rough estimate and said will probably take a week, and also said they would call me first to let me know how much it will cost.
Long story short 2 days later I got a call sure enough they were able to fix it, changed whatever needed to be change and most of all was ready for pick up. In 2 days! At a reasonable cost! While the other place said will be about a month! I would definitely come here again, I can tell John has a lot of regular customers and he also took the time to explain to my son proper care and what he needs to do after use. honest, and truly deserves our business.

Bought my first steel-string guitar here. Absolutely floored with the amazing service and knowledge I received. John helped me from start to finish pick out this beauty and I couldn't be happier! He was so full of knowledge and listened to my needs. The price was amazing! I shopped around for quality and was stunned I was able to get such a good guitar at such a fair price! I love that they offer classes too! Makes it a one stop shop! Best around!

This place is amazing they give sone awesome discounts! The people here are very educated jn all instruments. One thing I wished they worked are more string sets for violin, viola, cello, & bass. Also individual strings should be more available too. This is my favorite music store by far I have said jt before these people know all about instruments. I love their customer service! Cheers

My son has two saxophones that he plays in college for marching band. They both play fine but we wanted to have them checked out before he went back to school. We took them to a popular music store in Mission Viejo and were told that one had been " mishandled" and would cost $277.00 to fix and $125.00 to fix the other. We were shocked since they both seemed fine.
We picked them up and took them to Laguna Hills Music. They were both checked over thoroughly and only minor adjustments were required. The price was $35.00 for one and $25.00 for the other. I'm so glad we took them to a place that was honest, friendly, and so helpful and didn't try to gauge us. Thank you Laguna Hills Music.

Had to replace my daughter bow for her violin today. Went to Laguna hills music and I was really impressed with the guy helping out. He is extremely knowledgeable and did not try to push me to the more expensive bows knowing my child will out grow her violin well before this new bow needs replacing. Also learn they offer affordable one on one music lessons. Jack pot! I know what my kid is doing this summer.

We rented a saxophone for my son and we returned the equipment the gentlemen in the store informed us that the screw for the neck is missing. Which is fine with us, we are willing to $25 for it. But after leaving the store we got a call from them and informing us that the mouth piece was replaced with a generic one and we need to pay $130 for the original piece.
This is after we dropped off the equipment and was inspected at the store and the only issue was the screw when we were at the store. How strange, they noticed the missing screw but they did not noticed one of the main piece was replaced? I don't think we'll rent from them again.

I rented a Cello here, for my daughter who is in 4th grade. We were late in renting it, and the only Cello left was old and dilapidated. After a few weeks I brought it back and they let my daughter rent a brand new one for the rest of the year. It subsequently inspired her and she began to really enjoy playing the instrument.

These guys are awesome! They really know their instruments. They're always very helpful and informative. My daughter takes violin lessons here, and the instructor is really top notch! She's very good with her and also very knowledgable! Honestly, I could go on and on about how great this place is! Seriously!

Humble spot with a lot of knowledge. I stopped in for my first guitar pic and was greeted by a man whom I assume to be the owner. After directing me to the pics, he went on to explain the differences in various pics and his recommendation if I didn't have a preference of my own. I told him that I'd just bought my first guitar recently, and more or less what I was hoping to achieve with it.
He gave me some advice, noted a few famous guitarists, and gave me a short history lesson all in about 10 minutes. He also introduced me to Billy, their on-site instructor who had a few minutes to talk to me between sessions. Billy--a thin white dude at or around 30 years of age--gave me the rundown on his availability and general teaching style. $25 for 30 minutes, Monday-Saturday; but Saturdays are pretty booked right now.
I told him I'd kick around the idea for a little while and consider stopping by again when I got tired of trying to learn how to play through YouTube lessons. It's a humble shop, but they've got a good selection of guitars, wind instruments and accessories. If you need a new guitar, professional instruction, or you just want to talk old-school guitarists for a while, I'd recommend the place.
