Drum Lessons

Kevin is one of the best teachers your kids can hope to have. He connects with kids and kindles the musical spirit in them. My son has learned how to play drums from Kevin for many years, yes, but also has been exposed to so many different styles of music and has been able to experience playing live with singers during the annual/semiannual recitals. I would highly recommend Kevin - he is a good person and a great instructor!

Kevin is a great instructor and a wonderful person. My kid is learning from Kevin from the last three years and I see him become a great drummer. I highly recommend Mr Kevin.

I started learning drum with Kevin from ground zero, and it didn't take me long to know that I'm in good hands. Kevin has systematic lecture notes to help me get on board and consolidate fundamentals. Also, he often uses analogies to help me better understand music concepts as a layman. Most importantly, he has trained me to have "music ears". Once I got more skills, we have practiced multiple songs in different genres. It has been lots of fun. Last but not least, Kevin is very flexible and well-organized.

It's a blessing to have Kevin as my son's instructor. I would recommend him to any kid with passion to learn drums.

All of the young drummers from our church are all taught by Kevin, he's an awesome drum teacher, very helpful and accommodating and knows what he is doing. when you hear him play you will definitely be in awe! My daughter recently joined his class and had the chance to play in the recital yesterday, after 6 months of learning, i couldn't imagine she can play very well already, Kevin brings out the best of his students! awesome guy!

Kevin is an excellent drum teacher. - He is a proficient drummer, well versed in a variety of styles (rock, funk, jazz, pop, etc.). Watching him play is fun! - He has a strong teaching "method". Good emphasis on fundamentals (e.g. paradiddles) but then also sprinkles in applications (e.g. working through specific songs). - He has developed his own (and excellent) teaching material (exercises that he uses for lessons and homework). - He is very organized.

He manages his calendar well (schedules lessons for the month in advance) and is punctual. We've hardly ever had to reschedule a lesson. I'm a semi-pro musician myself and have worked with a variety of music teachers for my kids and I can confidently recommend Kevin as a great drum teacher.

Kevin is an amazing drum teacher. I love how he keeps it real and he keeps it simple for my 15 year old son. My son is always excited about drum lessons. He never resists or tries to get out of going to lessons (which he has tried before with piano classes). My son is a huge basketball fan and player, for him basketball is everything. However, when it comes to drumming, that's the only other thing he's passionate about.

I highly recommend Kevin. He often sends emails asking if any of his students would be willing to drum for certain events and such. Which is great because it really challenges the students and causes them to be able to step out with the skills they have learned.

Kevin is an outstanding teacher. He is great with my son. In fact, several students from my son's school has started taken lessons from him. All are pleased. He keeps them engaged by teaching them not only the fundamentals, but he makes it fun by teaching them songs they want to learn. Every year he has to most amazing recital where he "Stars" his drum students with a live band! Some of the best worship leaders in the south bay come out to accompany Kevin's students.

Kevin is a great teacher and understands his students motivation and attitude pretty quick. He is easy to work with in regards to re-schedules. My kids really enjoyed going to the drum classes and hope to continue sending them to Drum and Drummer. As good as it can get.

Kevin has been teaching both my sons for a couple of years now. The boys like and enjoy the format of the lessons very much. Kevin has a good mix of lessons with rudiments, snare and playing along with popular rock music. Kids like the mix. There is also a yearly recital where the students get to play along with a real band. Kevin understands the strength and weakness of each student which makes him a good teacher.

Kevin is not only an excellent drummer but also an excellent teacher. As a music student, it is good to learn from a proficient artist, but it is very important for them to be able to communicate and teach the skill, which is where Kevin excels. He has years of teaching experience and a solid curriculum which he keeps evolving as well. I have been learning drums for about 3 years from him and he always motivates, teaches, shares history and keeps challenging so that we try to keep improving. Its a pleasure to learn from Kevin.

Kevin has been teaching my son for over a year now. He has a gift for teaching to the student and understands not everyone learns the same. I highly recommend Kevin to anyone wanting to learn drums.

Kevin is simply amazing. He is not only very talented but works great with kids. He is very punctual, shows attention to details and has so many versatile drumming experience which clearly shows in the progress of your child. My 10 year old has benefitted a lot already. We drive 15 miles just to go to his class. He is very personal and each going. Would HIGHLY recommend him.

Kevin is easily the best drums instructor in the area. He taught my daughter for over 2 years, and I recommended him to other friends as well. You would be lucky if you can get on this schedule. He is very very passionate about drums and even more passionate about teaching. I would call him the 'master'.

Our church has sent many students to Kevin's studio for drum lessons over the last 10 years, and with each student Kevin has laid a strong foundation for rhythm and opened their minds to thinking outside the box. Most recently, my son joined the list of students we've sent to Kevin, and I was able to witness Kevin's teaching style firsthand.

I liked that over the years, Kevin transitioned from teaching from standard books to crafting his own teaching materials, since it demonstrates that he isn't just here to teach a standard lesson, but he has thought out what he wants to accomplish with each student and has a big picture in mind. Once a year Kevin organizes a drum recital, and brings in stellar musicians to play along with the drum students. It's a pretty big production and everyone always has a good time, especially the students, who get to "jam" with some big-timers. The best part, though, is if you can get Kevin to show you his chops once in a while - it's always such a pleasure to watch him play. Awesome drummer!

Kevin is an awesome and talented drum teacher! I have been learning drum lessons with him on and off due to my crazy busy schedule. He always has a lot of patient for teaching students. More important, he cares about each student's learning process and goal. He creates his own lesson materials that will help you to achieve your goal step by step.

Not only I have enjoying learning drum lessons with him and so do my two nieces (11 years and 9 years old). I did my first drum recital two years ago which I have never thought I could do. But I did it. I have witnessed so many young and old great drummers from his teaching in each year recitals. Thanks Kevin for the encouragement and teaching for my drum lessons. I will be coming back for more lessons in 2015 soon. :-)
