Music Teachers' Association Of CA Sf The Music Teachers' Association of California, incorporated in 1897, is an expert organization of approximately 4,500 members. Throughout its 100 year history, MTAC has dedicated its efforts towards the pursuit of excellence in music education. Each of the more than sixty branches throughout the state - from Humboldt County to San Diego - maintains its own schedule of programs and activities and participates in state huge projects and programs.
Services
Active Membership is the highest level of membership. Degrees obtained outside the U.S. require an equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree in music, documented with a Foreign Credential Evaluation Report (FCER). Membership is required to participate in Certificate of Merit. Provisional Membership is a four-year program for those who have not yet fulfilled all the requirements of Active Teacher Membership.
Friends of Today's Music commissions new works specifically for young musicians. Established in 1986 by Dr. Bob Bennett, the project has supported the creation and publication of new works by leading composers of our time. Each commissioned work is premiered by young musicians during the MTAC convention while the audience follows along with the published score.
The Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) annual State Convention is an exciting opportunity to engage with over 8,000 music students, parents and teachers. The Convention brings together world-class artists, music educators, and students to celebrate music performance and composition. This four-day extravaganza is filled with seminars, performances, recitals, presentations, and master classes. Also featured are public performances by professional musicians and a world premiere of a specially commissioned musical piece.
The Music Teachers' Association of California Foundation is a charitable organization, established in 1989 to support students across the 63 affiliated Branches statewide through the Foundation awards and scholarship programs. Since its establishment, the MTAC Foundation has provided thousands of dollars in grants, awards and scholarships to hundreds of deserving young students.

The music teachers from this association charge so much u can afford them. U should not pay such high price to learn music. One teacher from this site wanted 400$/ month 4 one hour class and 45 min theory class. being a single mom that is half of one of my paycheck. Sad that u can give ur kid music lessons cos they are so expensive

This is the headquarter for the MTAC state board members and office staffs. These hard working talents take care of ca. 5000 professional music teachers and their estimated 300,000 music students year round.
