Our initial perspective of The Lesson Studio was not bad. However, when an unforeseen conflict happened to our family, the owner was rude, unforgiving, and money-hungry. This business ended up charging us two additional months that we could not attend and money our family did not have due to the other charges we had to pay from the conflict. Although we signed a contract to finish the semester, I find this a bit over the top.
Due to an uncontrollable schedule conflict that we were unaware of at the time of registration, we were forced to remove our child - who had NO control over her schedule changes - from the music program. To be clear, the terms say: "It is our expectation and your confirmation that you have taken into consideration the lesson times, duration of this agreement, practice times, transportation to lessons, costs, selected payment option, and any future time conflicts; which may include (but not limited to) - homework, after school activities, and seasonal sports." The terms and conditions for a student activity are completely unfair, and I apologized for the inconvenience but the owner didn't care - at that point they were just collecting my money.
For the record, we did take his terms into consideration but a new schedule was given to us and we had to rearrange. Even after I had made it clear from the beginning in emails to the owner that other activities may become a conflict issue, he ignored me and kept charging me. Finally, as I wrote to him to try to work this out, he never responded to my final request (an email very similar to this post) and simply kept sending me bills.
I would not recommend this organization based solely on the lack of appropriate communication and inflexibility of the program. I would recommend that this program and programs like it adjust their contracts with a bit more flexibility as families have constant change and parents are stressed out enough to keep their kids busy and healthy.

I've been taking drum lessons here for a little over a year now and it's been great! I've had two different instructors, and the transition between was great, especially since such a shake up can be tough to navigate for learning a new instrument. Furthermore, the studio took the pandemic in stride and I've made tons of progress- even with Zoom lessons while staying safe and healthy. Shouts out to Chase, he's awesome and a great instructor!

I have been an adult learner at the lesson studio for years. Gary and his team of talented musicians are the best in the area. Their electronic system provides opportunity to share music and class notes and manage makeup lessons. Their voice lessons are fantastic with experienced and well trained teachers. Teachers tailor your lesson to appropriate skill development and promote growth. My children have enjoyed saxophone, and guitar lessons as well and have had fun while improving their skills.

We have had an excellent experience with the Lesson Studio. Both my kids started after COVID hit and have learned an amazing amount with their online teachers. My daughter is taking saxophone lessons and her teacher is inspiring her to play with so much more passion and musicality. My son is taking bass lessons and is having a ball learning lots of fun songs. I would highly recommend the Lesson Studio- especially as a fun learning experience during Covid!

My daughter has been taking lessons at the Lesson Studio for 10 years! Gary and all of her instructors have been amazing and supportive. She has grown in her confidence, skill, and love of music through the care and talent of her instructors. Currently, she is taking voice lessons and loving every moment. I highly recommend The Lesson Studio.

Our 11-year old son has been doing his trombone lessons at the Lesson Studio with a great instructor, April. She's been very motivating to him, and he is progressing nicely. We receive detailed notes after each lesson, which is a nice detail. His trip to the Lesson Studio is a weekly highlight for him. Highly recommended.

Two of my kids have been taking lessons at The Lesson Studio now for almost two years. We started with piano lessons, and have now moved on to guitar lessons and violin lessons. The staff and instructors here are top notch. They truly care about the kids and giving them a deep appreciation for music. My kids and I have been very happy with all that the lesson studio has offered!

Office staff is perfectly friendly and reasonable in my experience. Facilities are appropriate, and the teachers I've encountered are all nice folks. Parking has been plentiful, location is easy to get to, etc. If they look like what you want, give them a shot. The contract everyone is complaining about gets you a time slot locked in for the semester; a time slot that might be the only one some other student could use. If you don't want a contract, you can pay a couple more dollars per lesson, and schedule your lessons ad hoc.

Both of our kids take piano lessons from Ron and they love playing the piano now! We had a not-so-great experience with an at-home teacher and Ron has completed turned that experience around! Our daughter now take ukelele lessons there too, from Matt, super!, and she is getting better each day! I highly recommend the lesson studio in boulder!

Good teachers, terrible office staff! My daughter really enjoys her voice classes with the teacher, but the owner and office staff are terribly rude. I would pull her out if it wasn't for her teacher. Beware of them trying to pressure you into a semester worth of classes with no flexibility. If you have to miss more than 1 class during that time you are out of luck.
I would never agree to sign any contract with them after reading the other review and the experience I've had with them. I also listened as another student showed up for her lesson to find that her teacher was not there and a substitute was giving the lesson. The parent and child were not notified until they got to the lesson and the parent was not happy. I wouldn't have been either and the child seemed very nervous to go with someone she didn't know.

Great staff, quality instructors. the only downside is turnover. seems like some of the teachers who are cu grad students sometime last only a semester or two. both of my kids have been students here for years. i find billy R's review to be hilarious. he says he understands a contract is a contract, yet when he voids his he expects the studio to refund his money. sad. the lesson studio is great, don't listen to that garbage.

I found the instructors to be a mix of good and mediocre (as far as teaching skills, not talent -- they all seemed to be talented), but my biggest complaint was with the owner and his unwillingness to be flexible around extenuating circumstances. I paid for a full "semester" and got only three classes out of it, because he was not willing to refund my unused classes which I needed due to a major conflict that developed with my work schedule.
Even a gym will let you out of a contract or at least allow some flexibility for extenuating circumstances. Be aware that if you give him money and you have some valid, documented reason that you can no longer attend, this guy will not refund a single penny. His suggestion (twice now) has been that I wait a few months and try again, or that I come in nights or weekends when I have other activities planned.
I fully understand that a contract is a contract, but I found his insistence that I wait months on end and/or try to make my schedule suit him to be extremely unprofessional. When the day comes that my schedule allows me to take lessons again, I will NOT be returning to TLS. Good riddance.
