Since 1980 more than 6,000 students have taken music lessons (piano, guitar, voice, drum, violin, brass, and woodwinds) at our facility, more than at any other studio in Chula Vista. We started as a very small school but have grown to become the largest music school in Chula Vista by offering the widest variety of music lessons and voice lessons. Voice lessons are very popular at our school.Whether you are involved in a singing/vocal group at school, part of a theater group, or just love to sing as a hobby - voice lessons at our school will give you the confidence to shine.
Services
As the season changes, our students are practicing their favorite pieces, and their choreographed dance routines, for the upcoming big recital. Parents and family members, on the other hand, are dusting off their cameras, ready to capture their childrens' moment on the stage! There's excitement all around, and we sure hope you can join us for our biggest and most exciting recital yet.
Focus On Teaching - All we do is teach. We do not sell or rent instruments. This leaves us free to specialize in one thing - providing the highest quality of music lessons. University Trained Teachers - Our instructors are highly qualified and many have extensive performance experience. Most importantly, our instructors strive to relate their teaching to each individual student's learning style. All Ages - Beginners to Advanced - Our current students range from 4 years old to many students in their 60's and 70's.
These guidelines will help you to have a successful, rewarding experience learning an instrument. These are practical tips that we have discovered from years of teaching and our experiences with teaching hundreds of students each year. For children, starting at the right age is a key element to the success of their lessons.
LEGENDS Rock Band is a program to bring talented students together, so that they may grow as artists in a fun and dynamic group setting. Students will be hand-placed into small groups with other students to form a complete band. These are energetic performance classes that get you right into the action - bringing to life the best classic and contemporary rock songs alongside your band!

The academy is located in the middle of the most traditional part of Chula Vista, the Third Avenue Village, which is a jewel in the city. We have passed several times by the academy, and though we were curious about it, we thought that the classes were only for young children. Now that my daughter is graduating and will have more time to dedicate to doing activities she is passionate about, I thought of contacting this place to get more information, a referral, etc. Bill, who answered the phone was very courteous, attentive, and understanding about my child's situation.
He told me that the academy is for all ages and that based on the information I provided him, he had a teacher who would be a good match for my child, so she would enjoy the class instead of feeling stressed. This week, I took her to an introductory guitar class. She received full attention, which was very good for her since she is a lefty and has dyslexia.
The teacher was patient, explained and answered clearly and simply all her questions. The place is clean, it has about 4- 5 small rooms for music classes and one for dance classes. What I liked the most was the attention they give to students and their interest for them to learn while having fun. There is parking behind and on the street. It's not free.
Follow up note: Sadly, my child won't be able to take classes here. She has several medical conditions and she only has enough strength to attend every other week; unfortunately, it seems the academy couldn't accommodate the schedule and she would have to go every week. we wish her condition improves someday enough so she can have the same opportunities as others and be able to enjoy what she loves the most. there's always hope, right ? We are thankful, anyway, for the introductory class. she was really happy and excited about it. Hopefully, we can find a more suitable place for her needs

My 9 year old daughter has been going to this school for piano about 2 years now and she enjoys it very much. Right now during Covid, classes are via FaceTime and she's learning pretty well. Although we can't wait for things to go back to normal because she loved learning with the other few kids in person. I definitely recommend this school and appreciate Mr. Bill's flexibility and communication.

We have been here for 4+ years now! We have many other options closer to home, but we would rather make the drive! We couldn't be happier and we love the family feel : Miss Lily is AMAZING -She is The Best! All the ballerinas love love love her and she is so good with them! You can feel the love while she also instructs with discipline. We started piano lessons and couldn't be happier with Miss Alice!
We love that this school is not based on a season semester schedule like most schools, so no long breaks, classes continue without interruptions other than holiday breaks. The recitals are great too, they are split into groups, the duration is perfect and the performers aren't waiting around all day like at most other schools. We are very happy and recommend this music and dance school very highly!

This place is amazing. Our kids have been taking piano lessons from Mr. Bill for about 5 years and have enjoyed every bit of it. He's nice, professional, and most importantly, patient. They have many schedule and instrument options to fit your needs and they are very flexible. Enrolling our kids at Chula Vista Academy of Music has given them much more than the gift of music. They are more patient, more responsible, and more confident than ever. If you're looking at options for music lessons, you should definitely check this place out.

Mr. Bill is masterful at playing piano but I'm highly impressed by his ability to identify the needs of his students. In the little time that my daughter has been under his instruction she has made a lot of progress. Through recitals students are given the opportunity to showcase their learning and build their self-confidence. Coming from other schools where they nickel and dime you for recitals, Mr. Bill is extremely fair and the experience is pleasant and to the point. Also, all performers leave with a special surprise!

I have a twelve year old daughter with Down syndrome and dancing is her passion. Not just any dance studio is as welcoming and friendly as this academy. My daughters weekly lessons are a joy, and always something to look forward to. The studio encourages creativity and passion through dance and the instructors are excellent, I am very pleased with this academy.
