Meridian Music doesn't just sell pianos - we are a comprehensive music center providing everything your musician needs from start to finish - including instruction. Meridian Music is a retail store - the oldest locally owned establishment of its kind - selling acoustic and digital pianos, computerized player pianos, portable keyboards and carefully selected used pianos.
Much more than a "piano store" - Meridian Music was founded with an eye toward community service, supporting arts and education, in addition to retail sales. In 1967 Mr. Gigax came to Indianapolis to run Steinway's retail establishment: Wilking Music Company. When Steinway decided to sell the business in 1969, Mr. Gigax made the decision to put down roots in Indianapolis permanently and buy Wilking Music.

We had an excellent experience at Meridian Music, having stopped in several times over the course of a couple years before we finally made a purchase. Joe and Craig were very warm, engaging, and knowledgeable, and we never felt pressured in making our decision. We would highly recommend visiting Meridian Music if you are in the market for a piano, and especially a Steinway Piano.

I had a wonderful experience working with Craig at Meridian Music - he helped look up the serial number to identify the age of a very old piano we own and figure out what a comparable replacement cost would be. He was very knowledgeable and I could tell music and pianos were his passion! I would recommend this company to anyone.

The entire process from the initial store visit to delivery & then performance of the piano was & has been fantastic and beyond our expectations. On our initial visit, we arrived ~10 minutes prior to close w/ our three young kids. Meridian Music could not have been any kinder spending the time with us, answering our questions while we tried to keep our little ones corralled well past an hour after stated close. Highly recommended!

After committing to more advanced piano lessons for our nine-year-old, we went on the search for an acoustic upright piano. Because of our background in music, sound and feel were at the top of our list. I had always associated Meridian Music with the Steinway name and, as much as we might aspire to a new Steinway, we knew that was out of our budget.
I did not have personal experience with the Boston line of pianos, so we were both pleasantly surprised when we sat down to play the wide selection of Boston uprights available in the showroom. We also had other brands on our list and traveled around town to do hands-on research. After head-to-head comparisons, the Boston had tone, touch, and features that put it at the top of our list.
The buying experience at Meridian Music was excellent, delivery flawless, and our beautiful new Boston upright now has pride of place in our music room. As an added bonus, Craig Gigax - the owner of Meridian Music - supports and champions music throughout our state. I highly recommend making sure Meridian Music is on your list when shopping for a piano!

I sold a piano that Meridian Music moved for this man. The piano was larger and had a player piano attached to it. This made it much heavier. They also had to take it down about 8 stairs to get it into the truck. Meridian Music men told the buyer that they would need a third man to help move it, as it was larger and had steps to take it to the truck, therefore it would be more money to move the piano.
The buyer agreed to the new price ( not much more ) and a third man arrived and they loaded the piano and delivered it. As I understand it the buyer is upset that he had to pay more even if he did not give all the correct information.but still got good service.

We take violin lessons here! Our teacher is amazing and very interactive. We've been through several violin teachers and just couldn't find the right one for our six year old, until we found Leah S. She has done wonders for our child. We even drive 45 there for our lessons. It's been worth the drive and money!
