We take students of all ages, with an emphasis on They can be taught in any of our three methods of instruction which consist of the Suzuki Method, Traditional, and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).
MILI's master classes provide select students the opportunity to play for and receive instruction from some of the world's greatest musicians. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to receive an honest critique of their musicianship and performance style, which provides a fresh take on their abilities often only appraised by their private and group teachers.
Music theory is the foundation of learning an instrument. Our program focuses on fostering students' musical abilities. The musicianship program will help improve students' comprehension of the structure of music through the study of harmonic progression, sight-reading, and the form of music in order to enable the student to interpret music effectively.

I started going to MILI when I was just a few months old for kindermusik. I continued to study violin and chamber music at MILI until I graduated high school. I am now studying violin performance at the University of Michigan, and I could not be more happy with how much MILI has prepared me for this. Each instructor truly cares about the student, and adjusts their teaching style to help the student progress more effectively. Carol and Geri are very passionate directors who are compassionate and funny people that truly make MILI a family.

Have studied cello at MILI since before I can remember. The faculty has become like a second family to me. It's been a wonderful experience and I have gotten many opportunities to perform at places like Carnegie Hall and have even played a solo with an orchestra. Through the teachers dedication I have decided to go on and minor in cello performance in college. I cannot thank everyone at MILI for years of dedication and love to my musical education.

Wow! My daughter went to MILI for several years, from 1995 to about 2003. She had a really great experience. The school was big enough, with enough extremely talented students and committed parents, that they were able to create a community for musical development. I can't imagine that it changed as much as the other review implies.
