The Toedtman School of Music, currently located in Cincinnati Ohio's suburb of Sharonville, was founded by Melissa and John K. Toedtman in the Spring of 1974.By 1982 the School had outgrown its home on Laurel Avenue in Madeira Ohio.
We here at Toedtman School of Music, the first private music school in Cincinnati, obviously value the importance of music lessons - we've been providing private music instruction in the Cincinnati area since 1974! But we also realize that it's important to ensure that each music student clicks well with their music instructor, and that they feel excited about their music lessons moving forward - ensuring they continue to have music in their life for years to come.That's why we offer a free introductory music lesson at our Cincinnati music studio located in West Chester Ohio!
The Greek philosopher, Plato, said that music instruction is the most important of all the arts and sciences for children because it develops equally both the emotional and the rational, scientific sides of the human brain. Music has also been shown to increase IQ, hand-eye coordination, and the power of concentration while providing a means of expressing the deepest emotions of the human soul that transcend anything words alone can say. Our goals for each student include fostering a lifetime joy of creating music and passing this love of the art on to future generations.
Flute, Saxophone, Clarinet: A wind instrument requires a good deal of skill to play with confidence and our wind teachers will help you achieve this quickly. If a student wants to advance to a higher chair in a school band or orchestra, private music lessons in Cincinnati with our teachers will facilitate this goal.

This place has some very good instructors and my kids have been with one of the instructors for over 3 years. However, this place is run by a pathetic bloke named John Toedtman who is incapable of having a civilized conversation. We had a confrontation on mask mandates and I wish at the least he had some decency to keep it away from my little kids who were stressed at the time.
I tried educating him on state mask mandates and when they ended and what is considered a private and public space, however this guy is beyond learning. No wonder his wife left him for a piano tuner. I would not recommend any students let alone kids be anywhere close to him.

Both of my kids started to take piano lessons with Mr. Toedtman after their previous teacher moved out of town. It has been a really pleasant several years of learning. Mr. Toedtman is kind, patient, and great teacher. My kids have learned so much from him and we really appreciate the experience and tie spent with Mr. Toedtman.

Our kids started learning from age 5 and we still marvel at the kid friendliness. Every teacher is very professional and our colleagues agree too. One of our colleague's daughter was learning piano from another teacher and got so frustrated she quit. We suggested Toedtman School of Music and now their daughter loves piano and is extremely passionate about music. If you want your kids to love music, this is the best place.

I have been nothing but impressed by the instruction I have received at the Toedtman School of Music. My teacher, John Toedtman, has helped me to improve as both a bass player and as an overall musician. My appreciation for the theory side of playing has benefited greatly from the lessons that I've learned from him and my confidence as a player has grown beyond belief. I highly recommend that anyone seeking to increase their musical knowledge and their skill should look into the Toedtman School of Music.

As a retiree I finally had the time to take beginning piano lessons. I searched for teachers on line and was disappointed to see how many sought only children, teens or students with experience. Then I saw Toedtman's and they state under their mission "our students range in age from 2 to 80." Well, that more than covered me! I had a brief conversation with John K. Toedtman and started that week in late September. John is very patient and supportive. This is while he doesn't miss an errant note or incorrect finger placement. I am learning at a pace I am comfortable with. I highly recommend John.

Our experience at the Toedtman school has been excellent! My daughter has been taking lessons on double bass and bass guitar with John for over four years and will likely continue with him for many more. The teachers are very professional and make learning there a real pleasure, and the environment is comfortable for waiting parents as well.

Before I came here after a decade of learning piano, I had thought my ability had "plateud" a bit. Now, after just a year of lessons with John K. Toedtman, I can confidently say that I've improved with speed that I never thought possible before. The staff here are truly experts with music and are gifted at teaching others to understand it too. My performance ability has never been better because of the frequent (optional) recitals and encouragement. Additionally, the care for each individual student is obvious, and great performance opportunities have opened up for me because of my instruction here.

I have been attending this place since I was 6 years old. I used to take art lessons, and I currently take piano and viola here. The teachers are super kind and genuine and help you become not just a better musician, but also a better person. I have grown up not just physically but mentally as a person and as a musician. This is the place to send someone if you want to learn how to play piano, violin, viola, bass, etc.

I highly recommend the Teodtman school for musicians of all ages. In fact, i had my kids in lessons there when they were young. Ive been studying upright bass with john for years now. Hes highly skilled in upright and electric bass, as well as all styles of music. Your lessons are tailored to you. Ive learned a whole new way of aproaching music from john. I look forward to my weekly lesson.
